Arlene Sachs, Ph.D.
Our founder has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and is a published expert in cognitive learning strategies, reading, writing, and assessment.
Sachs received a Ph.D. in learning disabilities, reading, and assessment. She also has a Master’s in Reading and Early Childhood Education from the George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University.
Faculty Life
Upon completing her degrees, Sachs joined the faculty of The University of Texas at Dallas. While on faculty, she conducted and published research on effective reading and writing strategies for students with learning differences.
Sachs also taught undergraduate and graduate courses in reading, learning disabilities, psycho-educational assessment, and cognitive development.
Private Practices
Since beginning her private practice in 1985, Sachs has counseled parents and worked with children to enrich and enhance their educational development from early childhood through adulthood.
To offer families in-home academic assistance, she founded Academic Bridges in 2007. She received certification in College Counseling from UCLA in 2012. Sachs is also a certified provider of Cogmed Working Memory Training.
In addition to her private practice, she is the Director of Student Academic Support Services and Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
