College Admission Exams

If your child is thinking about attending college, he or she will probably need to take the SAT or ACT. These tests help colleges get to know them better. Academic Bridges provides individual classes to help prepare for the SAT and ACT. Students are taught strategies to build confidence and enhance test performance. An individual plan is devised for each student depending on his or her needs. Students may choose to take the SAT, ACT or both. Dr. Sachs will guide you and your child in the decision process.

ACT

The ACT measures achievement in core academic areas important for success in college.  There are four multiple choice tests-English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science-and an optional Writing Test. The individual tests measure skills and knowledge. This test is just one factor that a college looks at when they consider a college application.

SAT

The SAT measures how a student solves problems, thinks and communicates. Critical reading, math and writing skills are assessed to see how well a student applies knowledge. This test is just one factor that a college looks at when they consider a college application.
